Name:
Fenrir
Age:
2 autumns
Gender:
Male
Appearance:
Fenrir is your average sized wolf. And his colors aren't too uncommon, either. Light browns cover most of his body, though his underbelly, chest, and other random areas are an ivory shade. On his forehead is a chocolate splotch. More of this shade cover his muzzle on the top half. Also, all but his right hind leg are socked with this shade. His optics are of a seemingly unnatural hue of yellow. His pelt is soft, though somewhat thick. He would be uncomfortable in summers, should the wind not ruffle his fur often enough to keep him cool.
History:
Rau waited eagerly, pacing back and forth. He was so nervous.. But he couldn't figure out why. It's not like he was the one giving birth.
But that was some time ago.
Now the four wolf pups were learning to hunt, and teaching themselves how to fight. Rau, their father, watched. They were all normal pups, doing everything they were expected to do. But then there was that fifth, whom Rau had named himself. Fenrir. Fenrir the Dim was what Rau called him. He didn't teach himself to fight, like the others. He was stubborn to learn to hunt, no matter how many wolves had to tell him that he wouldn't survive if he never learned. The other pups were eager to learn, always trying to be the best. Even Fenrir's sisters were of great size, yet Fenrir was smaller. Not a small wolf, but not large. Not a strong wolf, nor very intimidating.
Rau had tried to raise him to be different. He wanted this wolf to be strong. He had wanted Fenrir to be the one to be proud of. Fenrir would make a difference, that's what Rau told himself. Yes, he made a difference, but not as legend said. Fenrir was a wolf long ago, he would be the end of the gods. The gods chained him with the thickest of chains, yet the Great Fenrir broke through with ease. But when they tied a ribbon of unique ingredients, the wolf could not break through. And so the gods put him a mile in the earth. That is, to say the legend simply. No, Rau's son was nothing like this Fenrir.
Rau reminded Fenrir often of whom he had been named after. Given him something to look up to, and hopes that Fenrir would at least try to be such a strong wolf. But alas, Fenrir would not listen. Why didn't he want to be strong, and try to live up to his name?
Fenrir had different ideas than his father. While Fenrir thought it was great to be strong, he also thought that trying to live up to being such a strong wolf was a foolish idea. Many tried to be strong. None were as strong as this wolf. Why should he be any different?
No, Fenrir does not lack confidence. He lacks the want to have a goal he can never accomplish.
Being the rebel that he was, his presence wasn't always appreciated in the pack. He tried to cause mischeif to those who tried to force him to be someone he wasn't. And eventually, only a few months ago, he left the pack. In the dead of night, he moved, stealthy and quick. It was easy for him to escape. He was often playing tricks in the dead of night, so he got used to things such as this. He snorted as he thought of this... skill. He didn't ever want to have skills, to continue in his rebellion to expectation, but it appeared he had found one.
And now, here he is. Fenrir.
Personality:
If you've heard of the mythical wolf named Fenrir, you should know that this Fenrir hates the expectation he has to live up to. While he isn't one to turn down a chance to show his strength to the world, he also isn't one to attempt to do something that he knows in his heart that he can't. And so, he rebels against expectation. Not an evil wolf too strong for gods, a kind wolf who hates people who judge. And how ironic it is, for he often jumps to conclusions looking at others. He tries to get to know them, but he still has that initial impression carved into his memories.
Fenrir doesn't give consideration to impressions, and sometimes his actions are rather odd. When expected to do something, he might take a walk and forget everyone for some time. Or, he might actually do his task. Fenrir tends to be rather unpredictable in this fashion, and his attitudes can change over night. And this is something Fenrir doesn't try hard to change.
Anything else?:
I advise reading through the history if you want to get his personality. Strange, yes, but it fits there better.
